3A - Make a page that has similar characteristics. Link reputation, link popularity, link profile, good score in Google Goggles.
Traffic counts a bit with Google and Adsense scoring so you want to pick a placement that has similar traffic to what your page can pull.
Some loose ends to wrap up with you:
- Keywords. Use common sense. You should already be in big markets anyway. Don't go trying to get monster payouts from lesbian jewish mermaids. All those Top Paying Adsense lists are a good place to start.
- Smart Pricing. Even in the MFA hey-day every mesothelioma site did not make $3/click. You need good SEO (check) and you need keywords that have good conversion potential.

Commercial intent & Conversion.
You take out an ad. You want people to click the ad and come to your landing page. You want AN ACTION from the visitor on that landing page.
Google wants the advertiser to be happy. That happens when the clicks on the ads convert to actions on the landing page.
99% of these article sites are for keywords that don't lead to sales/actions. Google smart prices these.
Use an ad spy tool like Hexatrack (comes free with Google Goggles) to find keywords that have people taking out ads longer term.
You can also use the MSN Commercial Intent tool to find if a keyword is a "buying" keyword or not. Buying words lead to sales and that leads me to the Crane Technique...

Swap out your damn adsense block and use affiliate links when it makes sense!
You have a weightloss site. You're getting $0.20 EPC in August for something like "lose 20 pounds". 100 clicks a day so you got $20 from that one page.
Make more money. Come November/December, swap out the Adsense block for the same size block of affiliate ads. Test image ads and just using your own text ads that look just like Googles.
Why November? Look at Google Trends for your keyword. Everybody wants to lose weight around the holidays. Your traffic will go up so put offers in front of people.
