"The Hard, Cold SEO Secret They Don't Want
You To Know About"
Here's what we know:
- Google, Yahoo, and MSN are different - VERY DIFFERENT
- You want traffic, not "Google traffic"
Here's what you are about to learn:
- It is easier to rank on MSN than on Google or Yahoo
Period.
Now, there are literally 100s of possible "ranking factors" that go into whether a page is at position #1 or position #999. We'll never know all the details but most likely all the engines use the same core set of factors - but they are weighted and ordered differently.
Shit, from day to day just on Google alone it seems that the "dials" are turned and tweaked a little bit in some competitive markets.
Keeps us all guessing.
Here are some of the things a real-world SEO dude (dudette) would look at to rank for a term:
- Age of the domain
- Google Pagerank
- Alexa ranking
- Link popularity
- Domain link popularity
- .edu/.gov link popularity
- Link reputation
- DMOZ listing?
- YahooDirectory listing?
- Title tag
- Keyword in the URL?
- Keyword in the domain?
- Keyword in Header tags?
- Keyword in Description?
- Stemmed Keyword in Title Tag?
- etc.
That's a lot of stuff to track across all the engines. And if you're looking for the master, kick ass, hack into Google then you need to watch this and then some.
Here's an easier way to look at it:
How Did A Site Like Get-Rid-Of-Debt.org
Rank #1 In MSN?
Some people would have you believe that the method used leaves no footprint - that it is totally untraceable and magical.
Bullshit.
Everything leaves a footprint. EVERYTHING. You just have to look. In this case, it took me a few minutes to get the essence of what is going on with this URL and 100s of others like it that are ranking in the top 5 of MSN with little to no work.
- Keyword in domain name
- Onpage factors
- Link popularity
- Overloaded link reputation
The first one is easy to understand - having the keywords in the domain name helps alot with MSN. A little less so would be to have the exact keyword in the URL itself (e.g. mysite.com/get-rid-of-debt.html).
The onpage SEO factors are not the usual list of subjects. It's easier than that - and there is some evidence that MSN may penalize for being over aggressive.
Title tag... check.
Keyword and description meta tag... check.
Keyword used in content - underlined... check.
Related keywords used in content... check.
Adsense... nope! (this is a report in and of itself)
H tags... nope!
Again, this is not a magic formula. We are doing data mining - seeing what is working and trying to infer. It's never perfect but usually we can get close. Then again, past performance and simulated results are never to be used as the sole indicator of future gains.
Ok, what the fuck is link popularity? It's SEO geek speak for the number of links coming into that page (url). Sounds simple. It isn't always.
There are lots of ways to slice and dice link popularity - it's actually a complicated subject to figure out when a link really counts.
Luckily it looks like MSN is a whore and they like volume.

Yahoo reports 158 backlinks coming in, but it's only from a few different sites - 31 unique IPs to be exact.
Tools like SEO Elite are killer for this kind of reverse engineering what's working because they give you the real scoop on what's going on and let you try a little what if analysis.
The SEOElite report gives us a clue into something - even though Yahoo is reporting 158 backlinks, they aren't all showing up. The "Has backlink" column has lots and lots of 'No' data.
What gives? Drumroll please...
Discover The Secret Sauce To Ranking In MSN
Faster With Only A Fraction
Of The Website Other People Need To Use
This is seriously old school - think 2003/2004 old school.
This site is rotating links in the sidebar and the footer.
Go take a look at this page: http://investors-daily.net
Scroll to the bottom and look at the footer.

See the links?
Refresh the page. New links!
Not to get too technical here, but MSN is caching the link popularity for a given site so every time it spiders a page and sees new links, it just adds that onto the total count.
This lets you build networks of sites - mininets, anyone? - that promote LOTS AND LOTS of money pages.
So let's wrap this all up for you with a neat little ribbon...
- Google, Yahoo, and MSN are DIFFERENT
- There is plenty of traffic to get from MSN alone
- It's easier to rank in MSN
- Pages that rank in MSN are UNIQUE - they don't rank in the top 20 in Yahoo and Google
If you want to know how to build small, simple networks of sites that "feed" links to your money pages then you need to read Dave Kelly & Chris Rempel's Ranking Loophole report.
I just gave you the "what"... if you're skilled online in making feeder sites and link networks you are probably good to go.
But if you need a step by step approach that explains EVERYTHING I covered in this report and includes a detailed blueprint for building out your own networks so you can rank and make buck on MSN, you need the Ranking Loophole report.
